CHAPTER 472.

AN ACT empowering the School Commissioners of Charles
|

County to establish the County Manual Training School
|
 
|
in McDonogh Institute, La Plata, Charles County, Mary-
|
 
|
land.
|
 
|
WHEREAS, The McDonogh Institute, lately founded at La
|

Plata, Maryland, is the only school in Charles County which
|
manual train-
ing.
|
supplements the work of the elementary public school, and
|
 
|
the only school in the county equipped for the introduction of
|
 
|
manual training.
|
 
|
SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|

land, That the School Commissioners of Charles County be

school.

and they are hereby authorized and empowered to establish
|
 
|
in McDonogh Institute, La Plata, Maryland, the Manual
|
 
|
Training School for Charles County, as provided in Chapter
|
 
|
273, Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1898.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said County School
|
Supervision of
same.
|
Commissioners shall have a supervision of said Manual Train-
|
 
|
ing Department and shall make same conform to the course
|
 
|
in manual training outlined by the Board of Education for
|
 
|
the State of Maryland, and that said department of McDon-
|
 
|
ogh Institute be open for free instruction in manual training
|
 
|
for the children of Charles County.
|
 
|

CHAPTER 473.
|

AN ACT to incorporate the Washington, Legore and Gettys-
|
 
|
burg Railroad and Power Company.
|
 
|
SECTION i. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
land, That Joshua N. Warfield, James W. Legore, Wm. B.
|
Washington,
|
Stambaugh, Frank L. Stoner, Columbus A. Welker, Eugene
|
Legore and
Gettysburg
|
Hammond and George F. Smith, and their successors and
|
Railroad and
Power Com-
pany.
|
assigns, and all other persons who may hereafter become
stockholders in the company hereby incorporated, be and they
|
 
|
are hereby constituted a body corporate by the name and style
|
 
|
of the Washington, Legore and Gettysburg Railroad and
|
 
|
Power Company, and by that name shall have perpetual suc-
|
 
|
cession.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corporation, under
|
 
|
the above name, shall be capable in law and equity of pur-
|
