powers; to regulate its methods of procedure; to define the

extent of said districts ; to provide for opening, extending,
|

widening, straightening and closing streets, lanes and alleys ;

for establishing public squares and market spaces, building
|
 
|
lines and the width of sidewalks in said district; for adding
|
 
|
to, extending and partly filling the harbor or basin of Balti-
|
 
|
more City; and for establishing public wharves and docks,
|
 
|
and to provide for appropriating a portion of the general
|
 
|
sinking fund of Baltimore City, and other moneys for the
|
 
|
purposes of this Act;" but said stock shall not be issued,
|
 
|
in whole or in part, unless the ordinance of the Mayor and
|
 
|
City Council of Baltimore providing for the issuance thereof,
|

CHAPTER 469.
|
 
|
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
|
 
|
397 of Article 27 of the Code of Public General Laws,
|
 
|
title "Crimes and Punishments," sub-title "State Peni-
|
 
|
tentiary."
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
State Peniten-
|
land, That Section 397 of Article 27 of the Code of Public
|
tiary.
|
General Laws, title "Crimes and Punishments," sub-title "State
|
 
|
Pententiary," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
|
 
|
enacted with amendments so as to read as follows :
|
 
|
397. The warden shall receive a salary at the rate of four
|

thousand dollars per year and allowance of subsistence, fuel

and occupancy as a dwelling of such parts of the front
|
 
|
building as are not used for prison purposes, also all necessary
|
 
|
outhouses, yards and grounds not within the walls of the
|
 
|
prison proper, but shall receive no other compensation or
|
 
|
perquisite.

|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
|
 
|
from the date of its passage.
