such freeholder, tenant or other occupant of real estate residing

 

within the carrying capacity of any such firearm aforesaid, and

 

the Board of County Commissioners aforesaid shall in no case

 

grant such leave to practice with firearms if in their opinion

 

the use of the public highways or streets of any real estate

 

sub-division be endangered by the use of such firearms; this

 

section shall not apply to practice in firearms now conducted

 

by the United States Government on any of the navigable

 

waters of this State, where such practice is conducted under

 

any Act of Congress or established rule or ordinance of the

 

United States Navy or War Departments; any person or per-

 

sons, body corporate or other association of persons guilty of

 

a violation of this section, upon conviction thereof before any

 

court of this State or justice of the peace therein having juris-

 

diction in the county where such shooting is done, shall be fined

 

not less than fifty dollars for each and every shot, ball or shell

 

fired from any such firearm, and be imprisoned in jail in the
discretion of the court or justice of the peace; provided, the

CHAPTER 448.

 

AN ACT to authorize, empower and direct the County Com-

 

missioners of Queen Anne's County to grant a pension of

 

fifty dollars to William H. Nichols of said county, and to

 

levy said amount on the assessable property of said county.

 

SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

 

land, That the County Commisioners of Queen Anne' s County

 

be and they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed

 

to grant a pension of fifty dollars annually to William H.
Nichols of said county, said pension of fifty dollars to be paid

quarterly of twelve dollars and fifty cents during his natural

 

life, and to levy said sum of fifty dollars of current money
