physical, mental, manual and moral training; to stimulate

 

popular interest in early American history, particularly to

 

encourage research as to the part that those of German blood

 

or birth took in the early development of our nation ; to foster

 

and establish trade schoolsj and to encourage the study of

 

the practical arts, literature and the fine arts ; to arrange popu-

 

lar and patriotic festivals, entertainments, etc. ; to aid in main-

 

taining public and charitable institutions and work, and to

 

further and advance the love of vocal and instrumental music.

 

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said corporation hereby

 

formed shall have the power and it is hereby authorized an-

 

nually, at its pleasure, to observe and celebrate the twelfth,
