disinterested sworn appraisers; and the balance, if any, to the

owner or owners of such swine; and should no one claim
|
 
|
said balance as owner within sixty days of said sale, the con-
|
 
|
stable shall pay the same to the treasurer of the school fund
|
 
|
for Dorchester County to be applied to the benefit of the public
|
 
|
schools of said county.

CHAPTER 428.
|
 
|
AN ACT to provide for the burial of paupers in Montgomery
|
 
|
County and for the payment of the expenses thereof by the
|
 
|
County Commissioners of said county, directing what proof
|
 
|
shall be furnished before said expense shall be paid.
|
 
|
SECTION i. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
land, That whenever any resident of Montgomery County,
|

who is a pauper, shall die, the expense of his burial shall be
|

paid by the County Commissioners of said county, who shall
|

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That every undertaker or other

appended to said bill, file with the County Commissioners an
|
 
|
affidavit made by some taxpayer, who shall state under oath

that he knew the deceased in his life time and knows or verily
|
 
|
believes that the deceased was, at the time of his death, without
|
 
|
means to defray the expenses of his funeral, and that the de-
|
 
|
ceased owned or was entitled to no property which could
|
 
|
properly be charged with the payment of the costs of his burial.
|
 
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
|
 
|
from the date of its passage.
