SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the said Mayor and Council

consistent with the provisions of this Act be, and the same are

hereby, repealed.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect from
|
 
|
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 389.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 1, 8 and 9 of Chapter 10 of the
|
 
|
Acts of 1902, entitled "An Act to create the State Board of
|
 
|
Undertakers of Maryland, and to prescribe the powers and
|
 
|
duties of the said Board," and to re-enact the same with
|
 
|
amendments.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
State Board
|
land, That Sections 1, 8 and 9 of Chapter 160 of the Acts of
|
of Under
takers
|
1902, entitled "An Act to create and establish the State Board
|
 
|
of Undertakers of Maryland, and to prescribe the powers and
|
 
|
duties of the said Board," be, and the same are hereby, repealed
|
 
|
and re-enacted so as to read as follows :
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Genera! Assembly of Mary-
|

Ian, That a Board composed of eight members be and the

same is hereby created and established, to be known as the State
|
 
|
Board of Undertakers of Maryland, and the powers and duties
|
 
|
of the said Board prescribed.

|
8. Before any person, copartnership or corporation shall

hereafter engage in the business of undertaking in the

State of Maryland and before any member of any such copart-
|
business of

nership, assistant or employee of any such person, copartner-

ing

ship or corporation or officer of such corporation whose

duties will engage him or her in the care, prep-
|
 
|
aration, disposition or burial of the dead shall dis-
|
 
|
charge the duties of such business, employment or of-
|
 
|
fice, and before any person, copartnership or corporation now
|
 
|
so engaged in said business of undertaking in this State; and
|
 
|
before any member of any such copartnership, assistant or em-
|
 
|
