SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

land, That a new section be and the same is hereby added to

as Section 87 A, and to read as follows :

Water Board.

87A. The Water Board shall have such power and authority

with reference to the assessing and establishing of rates either

by meter, fixed charge or otherwise, for the supply and use

of water for any purpose and at any point in Baltimore City

and County, as may be delegated by said Board by ordinance

of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore ; payments of said

rates to be enforced as now provided by law ; and the said

Water Board shall also have such power and authority with

reference to the abatement of water rates as may be delegated

to them by ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of Bal-

timore.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect

from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Washing-

ton County to subscribe for capital stock in bridge companies

in said county.

in said county or connecting said county with any other county

or State, to insure with the subscription made by the County

Commissioners the building of any such bridge, to subscribe

for such amount of the capital stock of any such bridge company

organized for the building of a bridge as above stated such

amount as in their discretion they may deem proper.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That to enable said Commissioners

to raise money to meet and pay any subscription for the capital

stock of any such bridge company so made by them, be and they
