a City Register and for Aldermen, as hereinafter directed,

and at all municipal elections held in said city. All elections
|

shall be by ballot and no person shall be entitled to vote at
|
 
|
am election who is not duly registered as hereinafter required.

157. On the second Tuesday in June in the year 1904, and
|
 
|
on the same day in every third year thereafter, the voters
|
 
|
of Frederick City qualified as hereinafter prescribed, shall
|
 
|
elect the Mayor, the City Register and five Aldermen for the
|

vided in elec
tion precincts

into four voting" precincts, the outlines of which shall be
|
 
|
as laid off and designated in Section 104 of this Article, for
|
 
|
Stale and county elections (so far as the same applies to

Frederick City) and the said qualified voters of said city
|
 
|
shall vote at their respective polls for a Mayor. for a City
|
 
|
Register and for five Aldermen, all of which officials shall
|
 
|
be voted for at large by the voters of the entire city.

174. The term of office of the Aldermen elected at the
|

regular election shall begin on the first Monday next after
|
 
|
their election, on which clay their first meeting shall be held,
|
 
|
and shall continue in office until their successors in office are
|
 
|
duly elected and qualified. The Mayor of said city may con-
|
 
|
vene the Board of Aldermen whenever and as often as it may
|
 
|
appear to him that the interest of the city require their de-
|
 
|
liberation.

City Register
|
180. No person shall be City Register of said city unless
|

he be at the time of his election a citizen of the United States

within the taxable limits thereof, actually residing therein,

and having resided therein for three years next preceding

his election. The annual salary of the person elected City

Register shall be twelve hundred dollars ; which sum shall

be his total compensation. He shall also be the collector of
|
 
|
taxes for said city, and whenever said City Register and tax
|
 
|
collector shall find it necessary to proceed by way of distress
|
 
|
or execution to collect any tax levied by the Mayor and Alder-
|
 
|
men of Frederick, which they are authorized by law to lay,
|
 
|
he shall as far as practicable proceed in the same manner as
|
 
|
is now provided by the laws of the State of Maryland for
|
 
|
