Section 270A of said Article, and to be known as Section 2706,

etc., be and the same are hereby severally repealed and re-en-
|
 
|
|
acted with amendments so as to read as follows:
|

270GG. All nominations made by such convention or primary
|
 
|
|
meetings shall be certified as follows : The certificate of nomi-
|

nation shall be in writing, shall contain the name of each person

nominated, his residence, his business, his business address, and
|
 
|

the office for which he is nominated, and shall designate, in not
|
 
|
|
more than five words, the party or principle which such conven-

tion or primary meeting represents. It shall be signed by the
|
 
|
|
presiding officer and secretarv of such convention, who shall
|
 
|
|
add to their signatures their respective places of residence,
|
 
|
|
their business, and business address, and acknowledge the same
|
 
|
|
before an officer duly authorized to take acknowledgments,
|
 
|
|
who shall append a certificate of such acknowledgment thereto.

|
|
If the nomination is bv means of a primary election, the cer-
|
 
|
|
tificate shall be signed and acknowledged by the person or per-
|
 
|
|
sons whose duty it may be bv partv usage to declare the result
|
 
|
|
of such election in the manner prescribed for a nomination by
|
 
|
|
a convention. A party emblem or device may be added to the
|

said acknowledgment. It may consist of one object or of sev-

eral objects in combination, and when printed on its proper
|

ballot, shall not occupy more than two and one-half inches in

height, and two inches in breadth; said emblem must not, in
|
 
|
|
the judgment of the officer or officers with whom the certifi-
|
 
|
|
cate is filed, too closely resemble any other party emblem previ-
|
 
|
|
ously designated.

270QQ. It shall be the duty of the Board of Supervisors of
|

Elections to provide ballots for every election for public officers

the provisions of this Article, shall not be cast or counted in
