SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That said Reporter and Codifier

index. The Reporter and Codifier shall, in the usual manner

 

of authors, superintend the publication, correction and proof-

 

reading of such reports, and shall secure the copyright for

 

the State of Maryland and as its property; and in addition

 

to his aforesaid salary shall receive the sum of five hundred

 

dollars per annum for clerical assistance, which sums shall

 

be in full compensation for all his services. The cost of ad-

 

vertising for proposals for the publication of said reports

 

shall be paid by the Comptroller upon the presentation of
