CHAPTER 301.

AN ACT to enlarge the powers and amend the charter of the

Jacob Tome Institute, a corporation incorporated under the

General Incorporation Laws of this State, and whose charter

was amended by an Act of the General Assembly of Mary-

land of 1898, Chapter 76, and by an Act of 1900, Chapter 214.

WHEREAS, The Jacob Tome Institute was incorporated under

the General Incorporation Laws of this State by certificate of

incorporation recorded among the Charter Records of Cecil

County, in Liber D. S. No. r, folio 220, etc., and its privileges

were extended, its powers enlarged and its charter amended

by an Act passed by the General Assembly of Maryland, Ses-

sion of 1898, Chapter 76, and by an Act of the Session of 1900,

Chapter 214, and it is desirous of still further enlarging its

powers and amending its charter ; therefore

SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

possessed by it under its said certificate of incorporation and

the amendments heretofore made thereto, shall have and pos-

sess the further powers, rights, privileges and franchises con-

ferred upon it by this Act ; and all the powers, privileges and

franchises conferred upon it by its charter and amendments

thereto are hereby continued in full force and effect, except in

so far as they are expressly altered or changed by this Act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That power is hereby given to

present number of nine; provided the total number of trustees

shall not exceed fifteen ; and provided all of such trustees shall

be citizens of the United States, and at least two-thirds of them

shall be citizens of the State of Maryland.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect

from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 303.

AN ACT providing for the box from which the jurors for

Queen Anne's County shall be hereafter drawn, and chang-

ing dimensions of same as they now exist.
