CHAPTER 299.

 

AN ACT to amend Article 77 of the Code of Public General

 

Laws, title "Public Education," by adding three sections

 

under the sub-title "School Attendance," to follow Section

 

138, and to be numbered as Sections 139, 140 and 141, re-

 

spectively.

 

SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

 

land, That the following sections be and they are hereby

 

added to Article 77 of the Code of Public General Laws, title

 

''Public Education," under the sub-title "School Attendance,"

 

to follow Section 138, and to be numbered and designated as

139. That every child between eight and sixteen years of age

sons duly authorized by such superintendent or principal, may

 

excuse cases of necessary absence among its enrolled pupils;

and provided, further, that the provisions of this section shall

 

not apply to a child whose mental or physical condition is

 

such as to render its instruction, as above described, inexpedi-

child to attend school or receive instruction as required by
