LAWS OF MARYLAND.

 

Knoxville. And it shall not be lawful for any person or per-

 

sons or body corporate to sell any spirituous or fermented

 

liquors or lager beer at any place in Petersville Election Dis-

 

trict, No. 12, in said county, except in the village of Knoxville;

 

and any person, persons or body corporate selling any kind of

 

intoxicating drinks within said Petersville Election District,

No. 12, except in the village of Knoxville, shall be liable to in-

 

dictment by the Grand Jury, and shall, upon conviction thereof,

 

be fined not less than fifty dollars nor more than one hundred

 

dollars and costs for the first offense, and for each subsequent

 

offense not less than one hundred dollars nor more than two

 

hundred dollars and costs, and upon failure to pay the same

 

shall be committed to the county jail until such fines and costs

 

are paid, or until discharged by due process of law ; and one-

CHAPTER 289.

 

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 223

 

of Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title

 

"Montgomery County," sub-title "Taxes," as enacted by

 

Chapter 102 of the Acts of Assembly of 1900.

 

SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

 

land, That Section 223 of Article 16 of the Code of Public

 

Local Laws, title "Montgomery County," sub-title "Taxes,"

 

as enacted by Chapter 102 of the Acts of the Assembly of

 

1900, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with

 

amendments so as to read as follows :

 

223. That each of said Tax Collectors shall within thirty
