cording to the order of the County Commissioners, and pay

over to the Treasurer of Maryland as hereinafter directed in

this sub-title of this Article, all money levied and collected
|
balance on
hand.

for the State in said county; he shall keep a separate account
|
 
|
of both State and county levies with each Collector, and shall
|
 
|
make and keep a duplicate of each receipt given for all public
|
 
|
moneys received by him; he shall make a quarterly statement
|
 
|
to the Commissioners, on the first Tuesday of each and every
|
 
|
quarter, in a report correctly exhibiting the condition of the
|
 
|
county finances under 'the control of his office; said state-
|
 
|
ment shall exhibit the amount of moneys received by him and
|
 
|
all sums of money due to the county from each Collector and
|
 
|
all other sources, and the year said sums were levied, the
|
 
|
amounts of money, if. any, borrowed by the Commissioners
|
 
|
and not yet paid; also the amount of money paid by him on
|
 
|
the order of the Commissioners and the object for which said
|
 
|
sums were paid, and moneys from the county and unpaid, and
|
 
|
the cash balance on hand and how deposited, and these state-
|
 
|
ments shall be made in a securely bound volume, properly
|
 
|
made and ruled for these special statements, and they shall
|
 
|
be open at all office hours to any and all taxpayers in said
|
 
|
county, he shall make monthly returns to the Comptroller of
|
 
|
the Treasury; he shall also serve and act as clerk to said Com-
|
 
|
missioners, and shall keep a record of the proceedings of the
|
 
|
Board of County Commissioners, and perform all such duties
|
 
|
as are now or may hereafter be prescribed by law for the
|
 
|
clerk of said Board; he shall keep said Commissioners' office
|
 
|
open from 9 o'clock A. M. until 3 o'clock P. M. each week day
|

(except legal holidays); he shall have charge of all records,
|
duties.
|
books, etc., of said Commissioners' office, and shall not allow
|
 
|
any of them to be removed from said office, except in obedi-
|
 
|
ence to a summons or order of a legally constituted court
|
 
|
of this State and shall deliver the same to his legally qualified
|
 
|
successors; and before entering upon the duties of his office,
|
 
|
the Treasurer shall be required to give bond with sureties to
|
 
|
the State of Maryland, in such penalty as the Commissioners
|
 
|
may deem necessary to protect the public interest; provided,
|
 
|
it shall not be less than twenty-five thousand dollars, the same
|
 
|
to be approved by the Commissioners conditioned for the
|
 
|
faithful discharge of the duties of his office, as Treasurer and
|
 
|
clerk, and the faithful disbursements of all moneys received
|
 
|
by him for county purposes, according to the order and direc-
|
 
|
tion of the County Commissioners, and to punctually collect
|
 
|
and pay oyer to the Treasurer of Maryland all moneys re-
|
 
|
ceived by him for the State as herein prescribed and provided
