lieved, and that all Acts hereinbefore provided for to be per-

formed upon the said sixteenth day of February shall, in the

event of such proclamation or proclamations, be performed

and done on the day succeeding the last day so named in such
|

last proclamation.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect

from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 2.
|
 
|
AN ACT to authorize the Governor to appoint a Commission
|
 
|
to advise as to emergency legislation which may be deemed
|
 
|
advisable on account of the great fire in Baltimore City.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
land, That the Governor be and he is hereby authorized to
|

appoint four persons, who, with the Attorney-General, shall

act as an unpaid Commission to advise with the Governor as
|
 
|
to emergency legislation to be recommended to the General
|
 
|
Assembly in consequence of the situation in Baltimore city,

resulting from the great fire.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
|
 
|
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 3.
|
 
|
AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
|
 
|
more to borrow temporarily such sum or sums of money as
|
 
|
may be necessary, not exceeding in the aggregate two mil-
|
 
|
lions of dollars, to meet the emergency created by the disas-
|
 
|
trous conflagration which occurred in the City of Baltimore
|
 
|
on the 7th and 8th days of February, 1904.
|
 
|
WHEREAS, The City of Baltimore has been visited recently
|
 
|
by a most disastrous and appalling conflagration.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
land, That in accordance with Section 7, Article 11, of the
|
 
|
Constitution of this State and for the purposes therein men-
