their levy there shall be interest charged at the rate of six per
|
 
|
centum per annum, but payment of said taxes shall not be
|
 
|
enforced by sale until after the first day of January succeeding
|
 
|
the date of levy of the same, though the notice now required
|
 
|
to be given by collectors, under Section 49 of Article 81 of
|
 
|
the Code of Public General Laws of this State, entitled "Rev-
|
 
|
enue and Taxes," may be given on or before the first day of
|
 
|
December of the year in which the same may be levied.
|
 
|
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the said Treasurer shall
|
 
|
keep and pay over, according to law or upon the order of the
|
Treasurer's
duties.
|
County Commissioners, the proceeds of all county taxes
|
 
|
levied in said county collected by him, and shall also keep and
|
 
|
pay over to the Treasurer of the State, according to law, all
|
 
|
State taxes in said county collected by him; and he shall
|
 
|
keep a full, particular and correct account of all moneys re-
|
 
|
ceived by him and paid out by him, and of all matters relating
|
 
|
to the duties of his office, together with all vouchers relating
|
 
|
thereto; and he shall present, quarterly, to the County Com-
|
 
|
missioners a true and faithful account of all moneys received
|
 
|
and disbursed by him, and all cash on hand during the preced-
|
 
|
ing quarter ; the said reports to begin not later than the expira-
|
 
|
tion of the first quarter after the term of office of the said
|
 
|
Treasurer shall begin. The said Treasurer shall deposit all
|
 
|
the moneys collected by him in a bank or trust company to be
|

approved by the County Commissioners in the name of himself

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That the passage of this Act shall

or their bonds, except to the extent that they may be repealed

or modified by this Act, shall continue in force and be appli-
|
 
|
cable to the office of Treasurer hereby created; provided,
|
 
|
further, that all orders of the Circuit Court ratifying and
|
 
|
confirming or setting aside sales of land for taxes shall be
|
 
|
subject to an appeal to the Court of Appeals of this State.
|
 
|
The reports of said sales shall be amendable in the discre-
|
 
|
tion of the court to conform to the facts of any matters re-
|
 
|
quired to be set forth therein; and when any sale shall have
