their levy there shall be interest charged at the rate of six per

 

centum per annum, but payment of said taxes shall not be

 

enforced by sale until after the first day of January succeeding

 

the date of levy of the same, though the notice now required

 

to be given by collectors, under Section 49 of Article 81 of

 

the Code of Public General Laws of this State, entitled "Rev-

 

enue and Taxes," may be given on or before the first day of

 

December of the year in which the same may be levied.

 

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the said Treasurer shall

 

keep and pay over, according to law or upon the order of the

pay over to the Treasurer of the State, according to law, all

 

State taxes in said county collected by him; and he shall

thereto; and he shall present, quarterly, to the County Com-

 

missioners a true and faithful account of all moneys received

 

and disbursed by him, and all cash on hand during the preced-

 

ing quarter ; the said reports to begin not later than the expira-

 

tion of the first quarter after the term of office of the said
