State and county, with full power to enforce the payment of

the same by sale or otherwise, and to convey title to any real

or personal estate sold by him ; and when it shall be necessary

for him to proceed to collect the taxes placed in his hands by

sales of real or personal property, he shall proceed as now

directed for the collection of taxes by collectors, and shall
|

be allowed the same fees or commissions as are now allowed

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That the person so, as aforesaid,
|

shall take an oath before the Clerk of the Circuit Court for

Charles County, in form similar to that now taken by collectors

of taxes, except as to the title of his office, and be similarly

certified ; and he shall execute to the State of Maryland a

separate bond in the penal sum of fifteen thousand dollars
|
 
|
as the collector of State taxes, which bond shall be approved
|
 
|
in like manner as the bonds of collectors of State taxes under
|
 
|
existing law; and he shall execute to the State of Maryland
|
 
|
a separate bond in the penal sum of twenty-five thousand dol-
|
 
|
lars, to be approved bv the County Commissioners of Charles
|
 
|
County, as the bonds of collectors of county taxes are now
|
 
|
approved ; both of said bonds shall be in the same form, as far
|
 
|
as the same can be applicable to the office of Treasurer, as the
|
 
|
bonds of collectors for State and county taxes, respectively,
|
 
|
under Section 81 of the Code of Public General Laws of
|
 
|
Maryland, entitled "Revenue and Taxes," and they shall both
|
 
|
be recorded in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for
|
 
|
Charles County. The said Treasurer shall be subject, at all
|
 
|
times, to be removed by the County Commissioners for wilful
|
 
|
neglect of duty or misdemeanor in office upon conviction in

lect all taxes that may be in the hands of the late Treasurer

uncollected, and for which the late Treasurer was responsible,

and for such uncollected taxes shall give a separate bond in

such penalty as may be required by the County Commissioners ;

at the expiration of the term of any Treasurer appointed or
|

elected under this Act, he shall deliver up the office to his
