and are authorized to adopt such plan of operation, assess-

 

ments, fines and penalties, receipts and expenses and costs for

 

obtaining the funeral benefits as it deems sufficient and ex-

 

pedient, and shall have all the benefits of the laws applicable

 

to fraternal beneficiary organizations, and be amenable under

 

the same.

 

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect

 

from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 175.

 

AN ACT amendatory of an Act passed at January Session

 

1868, entitled "An Act incorporating the Hagerstown and

 

Cross Roads Turnpike Company by adding an additional

 

section thereto to be known and designated as Section 6A,

 

to read as follows:

Roads Turnpike Company to sue out of the Circuit Court

 

of Washington County an inquisition for the assessment and

 

valuation of said one-half acre of land, and upon the compli-

 

ance by said company with the finding of the jury in such

 

inquisition, by the payment or tender in payment to the owner

 

thereof the amount prescribed, together with all costs and

 

charges therein, it shall be lawful for the said company to

 

occupy and possess the said piece of land for the purposes

 

aforesaid.
