CHAPTER 137.

AN ACT to amend the Code of Public Local Laws, title
|
 
|
"Queen Anne's County," sub-title "County Commissioners,"
|
 
|
by adding a new section thereto to be known as Section
|
 
|
133H.
|
 
|
WHEREAS, The County Commissioners of Queen Anne's
|
 
|
County from time to time have been compelled to bid in prop-
|
 
|
erty sold for county and State taxes at public auction for the
|
 
|
amount of taxes and costs due thereon ; and
|
 
|
WHEREAS, A doubt has arisen as to their authority to do
|
 
|
so and it is desirous to legalize their action in this respect and

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the County Commissioners

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That in case said property shall

not be redeemed, the County Commissioners shall make public
sale of said real estate after due advertisement in one or more

shall be best so to do, and sell the same to the highest bidder,
|

and the proceeds of said sale shall be received by the Treasurer

of said county who shall be authorized on the full payment

of the purchase money and not before, to execute a good and
|
 
|
sufficient deed to the purchaser, and the money arising from
|
 
|
such sale shall be accounted for by the said Treasurer, as other
|
 
|
public money now is, or may hereafter be accounted for ac-
|
 
|
cording to law.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
|
 
|
from the date of its passage.
