140. At the first regular meeting in July the Mayor shall

140. Sub Section 3. He shall, before, he enters upon the

duties of his office, take an oath before the Clerk of the Cir-

Maryland in a penalty equal to the amount of the taxes levied

|
cured by a fidelity or security company qualified to act as se-
|
 
|
curity or guarantor under the laws of Maryland ; and the same
|
 
|
shall be approved by the City Council, or a majority of them,
|
 
|
and signed when approved and delivered by them to the Clerk
|
 
|
of the Circuit Court for record ; and upon his failure to give said
|
 
|
bond within thirty days after his confirmation, the Mayor shall,
