AN ACT to provide for rebinding the. Land Record Books
|
 
|
|
of Washington County, Maryland.
|
 
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
|
land, That the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Washington
|

County, Maryland, be and he is hereby authorized and em-
|

powered to cause the books in his office used for the record of
|
 
|
|
deeds, mortgages and other evidences of title to real estate,
|
 
|
|
to be rebound in some substantial manner approved by said
|
 
|
|
clerk ; and the County Commissioners of Washington County,
|
 
|
|
Maryland, are hereby authorized to pay the costs and ex-
|
 
|
|
pense incident to rebinding said books as above provided.
|
 
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
|
 
|
|
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 671.
|
 
|
|
AN ACT providing for means for the settlement of disputes
|
 
|
|
between employers and employees by mediation or voluntary
|
 
|
|
arbitration, and the investigation of the causes of such dis-
|
 
|
|
pute.
|
 
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
|
land, That upon information furnished by an employer of:
labor, whether person, firm or corporation, or by a committee
|

of employees, or from any other reliable source, that a contro-
|
 
|
|
versy or dispute has arisen between employer and employees,
|
 
|
|
involving ten or more persons, which controversy may result
|
 
|
|
in a strike or lock-out, the Chief of the Bureau of Industrial
|
 
|
|
Statistics of Maryland, or such person officially connected with
|
 
|
|
said Bureau of Industrial Statistics as may be deputized in
|
 
|
|
writing by the said Chief of said Bureau of Industrial Sta-
|
 
|
|
tistics, shall at once visit the place of controversy or dispute
|
 
|
|
and seek to mediate between the parties, if in his discretion
|
 
|
|
it is necessary so to do.
