formed by the intersection of the north side of Lexington street

with the east side of St. Paul street, and thence southerly along

the east side of St. Paul street to the point of intersection of the

east side of St. Paul street and the north side of Fayette street,

thence easterly along the north side of Fayette street with the

east bank of Jones' Falls, and thence in a southerly direction,

following the said east bank of Jones' Falls, to a point where

said bank intersects the north side of the harbor or basin, and

thence due south, across the harbor or basin, to the south side

thereof, and thence westerly along said south side or shore,

to the point of intersection of the north side of East York street

with the east side line of East York street intersected with the
|
 
|

west side of Johnson street, and thence west along the south
|
 
|
|
side of York street to the point of intersection of the south
|
 
|
|
side of East York street with the east side of South Charles
|

|
street, thence northerly along the east side of South Charles

|
|
street to the point of intersection of the said east side of South
|
 
|
|
Charles street with the south side of Camden street, and thence
|
 
|
|
along the south side of Camden street westerly to Howard
|
 
|
|
street, at the point of beginning. "Block," in this section, shall
|
 
|
|
mean the portion of one side of any street, lane or alley, in-
|
 
|
|
cluded between the nearest two cross streets; provided, that
|
 
|
|
no such erections between the grade of the sidewalk and a
|

|
point ten feet above thereof shall in any case be permitted, un-
|
 
|
|
less there shall lawfully exist at the time of the passage of
|
 
|
|
this Act, on the same side of such street, lane or alley, such
|
 
|
|
an erection upon or on the said block, at a point within two
|
 
|
|
hundred feet of that at which it is proposed to make another
|
 
|
|
such erection.

|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That Section 8, sub-title "Fran-
|
 
|
|
chises," of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
|

"City of Baltimore," as enacted by Chapter 123 of the Acts
|
-enacted.

|
of the General Assembly, passed at the January Session, 1898,
|
 
|
|
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read
|
 
|
|
as follows:
