cine to furnish to, or to subscribe for the use of any habitual

 

user of the same, any cocaine eucaine or morphine, or any

 

salts or compound of cocaine, eucaine or morphine, or any

 

preparation containing cocaine, eucaine or morphine or other

 

salts, and it shall be unlawful for any practitioner of dentistry

 

to prescribe any of the foregoing substances for any person

 

not under his treatment in the regular line of his profession,

 

or for any practitioner of veterinary medicine to prescribe any

 

of the foregoing substances for the use of any human being;

 

provided, however, that the previsions of this section shall

 

not be construed to prevent any lawfully authorized practi-

 

tioner of medicine from prescribing in good faith for the

 

use of any habitual user of narcotic drugs such substances

 

as he may deem necessary for the treatment of such habit.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted That this Act shall take effect

 

from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 608.

 

AN ACT to regulate the width of tires on vehicles used for the

 

transportation of loads on the public roads of Caroline

 

County and to prescribe the penalty for a violation of the

 

same, and providing for the submission thereof to the quali-

 

fied voters of Caroline County at the election to be held on

 

the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November, 1904.
