190 1897 Proceedings of Electors of President and Vice President of the United States in and for the State of Maryland. On the second Monday of January, being the Eleventh day of said month in the year Eighteen hundred and ninety seven, the day appointed by the Constitution and Laws of the United States on which the Electors of President and Vice President of the United States of America are directed to assemble and perform the trust reposed in them, there appeared at the hour of noon, in the Senate Chamber, in the State House in the City of Annapolis (the time and place designated by Acts of assembly for the meeting of said Electors) The following gentlemen who had been proclaimed by the Executive authority of the State to have been duly elected Electors of President and Vice President of the United States in and for the State of Maryland, to wit: Adam E. King Jesse Cookman Boyd. Washington A. Smith. Monitor Watchman, Robert M. Welch Alexander Frank Talbot J. Albert Merritt Wilson The said Electors severally qualified by taking the oath prescribed by the Constitution to be taken by all civil officers. On motion by Mr. Jesse Cookman Boyd Hon Adam E. King was unanimously chosen President of the College and was escorted to the chair by Messrs Jesse Cookman Boyd and Talbot J. Albert : And addressed the Electors On motion by Mr. Talbot J. Albert |
