W. G. Purnell Secretary of the College was selected as such
messenger.

The following credentials were prepared and after being duly
signed by the Electors were delivered to Mr.

                                        State of Maryland
                                                    Electoral College
                                        Senate Chamber Annapolis Md Jan. 9th 1893

To all persons whom it may concern.
                                                        Know ye that we the
Electors of President and Vice President of the United States
of America, duly elected in and for the State of Maryland
having met at the City of Annapolis on the day prescribed by
the Constitution and Laws of the United States to perform the
trust reposed in us, and having made out in due form
certificates and lists of the votes given and the persons voted for,
and having confidence in the bearer W. G. Purnell secretary to the College,
have appointed, and by these presents do appoint and authorize
him to take charge of one of said certificates and lists, and with
all convenient dispatch to convey and deliver the same to the
President of the Senate of the United States at Washington.
In witness whereof we hereunto set our hands and seals this
ninth day of January Eighteen hundred and ninety three.





On motion by Mr. Baker
                                    The Secretary was directed to record the proceedings
of the College, and the same be signed by the President and attested by
the Secretary.
   
    On motion by Mr. Bowie
                                A vote of thanks was tendered the
President for the able, dignified and courteous manner in
which he had presided.
