8 The foregoing form was adopted To three certificates prepared by the Secretary according to the foregoing form, the Secretary attached severally one of the certificates furnished by the Executive Authority of the State, in obedience to the Laws of the United States. The said Certificates together with the lists were duly signed and sealed by the Electors. The were then folded and sealed and endorsed with the following memorandum signed by each Elector. Senate Chamber Annapolis Md. We the undersigned Electors of President and Vice President of and for the State of Maryland do hereby certify that all the votes of said State given for President and all the votes given for Vice President of the United States to serve from and after the third of March 1893 are contained in the certificate and return enclosed in this envelope. Given under our hands this 9th day of January 1893 On motion by Mr. Goodwin The President was directed to deliver one copy of said certificates to Mr. Goodwin one of the Electors to be by him deposited in the Post Office in the City of Annapolis addressed to the President of the Senate of the United States at the Seat of Government Washington D. C. And one other of the said certificates to Mr. Hannibal (another of the Electors) to be by him conveyed and delivered to the Judge of the District Court of the United States for the District of Maryland The remaining certificate was given to a special messenger to be by him conveyed and delivered to the President of the Senate of the United States at Washington D. C. |
