The Chair appointed as such committee Messrs. Page and
Roberts.

Messrs Page and Roberts the committee appointed to wait upon the
Governor and inform him of the organization of the College, reported
that they had performed that duty, and had been informed by the Governor
that he would forthwith send a communication to the College.

Hon. Edward Secompte Secretary of State appeared and
delivered the following communication from the Governor.

                                State of Maryland
                                                    Executive Department
I Elihu E. Jackson, Governor of Maryland, do hereby certify
that it appears from the official returns now on file in this
department of an Election held in this State on Tuesday the sixth
day of November instant for Eight Electors of President and Vice
President of the United States, that the following named persons
were voted for at said election, and received the number of votes
set opposite their respective names for Electors as aforesaid, to wit:
