166 We, the Electors of the State of Maryland of President and Vice President of the United States, do hereby certify that the lists of all the votes of the State of Maryland given for President and of all the votes of said State given for Vice President, are contained in this Certificate. On motion by Mr. Wilmer the President was directed to deliver one of said Certificates to Harry E. Mann Esq one of the Electors to be by him deposited in the Post Office in the City of Annapolis addressed to the President of the Senate of the United States at the Seat of Government, Washington D. C. and one other of the said Certificates to Henry F. Spalding Esq. (another of the Electors) to be by him conveyed and delivered to the Judge of the District Court of the United States for the District of Maryland. On motion by Mr. Keedy the following form of Credential was read and adopted. State of Maryland to Wit. To all persons whom it may Concern Know ye that we the Electors of President and Vice President of the United States of America, duly elected in and for the State of Maryland having met at the City of Annapolis on the day prescribe by the Constitution and Laws of the United States to perform the trust reposed in us and having voted and made out in due form Certificates and lists of the votes given, and the persons voted for and having confidence in have appointed and by these presents do appoint and Authorize him to take charge of one of said Certificates and list and with all convenient dispatch to convey and deliver the same to the President of the Senate of the United States at Washington. In Witness whereof we hereunto set our hands and Seals this third day of December Eighteen hundred and Eighty four. |
