1848. to Jos. H. Nicholson, with a written Credential under the Hands & Seals of the Electors, (for Four sea Proceedings of Electors 1840 pp. 84. 85.) to be by him conveyed with all convenient despatch, before the First Wednesday in January next ensuing, to the President of the Senate of the United States at Washington; & in the event there should be our President of the Senate, as aforesaid, to be by him deposited in the Department of State at Washington. On motion of Mr. Wickes, it was resolved unanimously (the Secretary purring the question,) that the thanks of the Electoral College are tendered to the President thereof for his able & dignified administration of the duties of the Chair. On motion of Mr. Wickes, it was resolved unanimously that the thanks of the Electoral College are due to the Secretary for the skillful & efficient performance of his important duties. Whereupon, the Electors adjourned. Attest: Jos. H. Nicholson Secretary. |
