II. Be it enacted,
by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the trustees of
the said James Scott, or any one of them, be and they are hereby empowered
to
execute and acknowledge a good and sufficient deed of conveyance, in fee-simple,
to the said Aquila Norris, for all such land as the said Aquila Norris
purchased
and agreed for from and with the aforesaid James Scott, in consequence
of
the act of assembly herein before mentioned, any defect of power in
the said
James Scott to sell the same in virtue of the said act notwithstanding;
and that
such deed, so executed and acknowledged, shall be as good and effectual,
to all
intents and purposes, as if the said James Scott had possessed authority
under the
aforesaid act to make the said sale, and had, in consequence thereof, executed
and
acknowledged such deed. |

CHAP. XLI.
An ACT to enable the inhabitants of Durham parish, in Charles
county, to elect vestrymen and churchwardens for said parish. |

WHEREAS the inhabitants of Durham parish, in Charles
county,
neglected to meet and elect vestrymen and churchwardens for the said
parish agreeably to the act for the establishment of select vestries, |

II. Be it enacted,
by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the inhabitants
of the said parish be and they are hereby empowered to meet at their parish
church on Easter Monday next, and there proceed to choose vestrymen and
churchwardens in as ample and full a manner as they would have done under
the act aforesaid; and the vestrymen and churchwardens, when so chosen,
shall
have, and are hereby declared to be vested with, all the power and authority
of
select vestries under and in virtue of the laws of this state, and shall
be subject
to the same regulations and penalties. |

III. And be
it enacted, That the vestrymen and churchwardens, elected by the
inhabitants of the said parish on Easter Monday, in the year one thousand
seven
hundred and ninety-one, shall have, and they are hereby declared to be
vested
with, all the power and authority of select vestries under and in virtue
of the
laws of this state, and shall be subject to the same regulations and
penalties as if
they had been elected agreeably to the act for the establishment of select
vestries. |

CHAP. XLII.
An ACT for the benefit of John Sewell. |

WHEREAS John Sewell, by his petition to this general
assembly, hath
set forth, that he is seized of a tract of land situate in Harford
county, called and known by the name of Archibald's Addition,
originally, on the twenty-sixth day of August, seventeen hundred and twenty,
granted to a certain Archibald Rollo, for the quantity of forty-nine acres,
and
that two of the courses thereof, mentioned in the original certificate,
are omitted
in recording the same; which said facts appear to be well authenticated, |

by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the register of
the land-office be and he is hereby directed to alter and amend the said
record, so
as to make it agree and correspond with the said original certificate now
being
and remaining in the said land-office. |
