RESOLUTIONS assented to
be authorised to meet commissioners from the states of Virginia, Pennsylvania
and Delaware, jointly or separately, and to communicate the regulations
of commerce
and duties proposed by each state, and to confer on such subjects as may
concern the commercial interests of the said states, and within the power
of the
respective states, and the meeting of the commissioners be on the third
week of
September next, and at such place as they shall agree on, and that their
proceedings
be report to the legislature of this state; and the said commissioners
be
authorised to meet the commissioners from the said states before the time
above
mentioned, at such time and place as may be agreed on.
RESOLVED, That the late edition of the laws be distributed
as follows:
For the senate, house of delegates, governor and council, court of appeals,
chancery
court, general court on the western and eastern shores, admiralty court,
auditor,
and western and eastern shore treasury, one copy each; for the county
courts and orphans courts, thirty-six copies; and for the naval officers
nine copies;
and that the residue of the one hundred copies be delivered to the treasurer
of the western shore, subject to the disposal of the general assembly.
RESOLVED, That the agent of this state for the recovery
of the bank
stock may, with the approbation of his excellency William Smallwood, Charles
Carroll, of Carrollton, and Thomas Johnson, Esquires, or any two of them,
compound, settle and agree, with the trustees of the said stock, or any
other
person or persons concerning the same, on such terms and conditions as
they
may think for the advantage of the state, on consideration of the situation
of the
said stock, and the present circumstances of this state, and the benefit
that may
be derived from a speedy and reasonable compromise; and that the money
arising
from the stock that will remain to this government, may be laid out in
such
manner as the said gentlemen, or any two of them, shall think most beneficial
to this state.
