72 PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY

two hundred twenty two pounds of tobaccoe for their Cost and Charges in this
behalfe Sustained to them the Said plantiffes of their Assent by the Court here
Adjudged and the Said Isaack Williams in mercy etc.

William Young plantiffe: Charles Hay Defendant.

The plantiffe by Joshua Cecell his Attorney Sues the Defendant for five
hundred and fifty pounds of tobaccoe upon an Action of trespass upon the Case
as by a noate with the hand of the Said Charles Hay Signed as by the Said noate
here Sett downe and decleration filed Appeareth.

This noate Shall Oblidge me Charles Hay to paye William Young five

hundred and fiftey pounds of tobaccoe Febuary the 25th 1695 [1696].

Charles Hay.

And the Said Charles Hay in his proper person Cometh and Defendeth the
fource and Injury when etc. And Saith that he Cannot gainsay the Action afore-
said of the Said William Young nor but that he oweth the Said William Young
the Said Sume of five hundred and fifty pounds of tobaccoe in manner and
forme as in the above noate is Expressed.

Therefore it is Considered that the Said William Young Recover against the
Said Charles Hay as well the Said Sume of five hundred and fifty pounds of
tobaccoe due by noate as aforesaid as alsoe the Sume of two hundred thirty Eight
pounds of tobaccoe his Cost and Charges in this behalfe Sustained to him the
Said William Young of his Assent by the Court here Adjudged and the Said
Charles Hay in mercy etc.

Henry Jowles plantiffe: Jacob Bourneveetch Defendant: Debt 4619 lbs. to-
baccoe.

And now att this day to (witt) the 24th day of November Annoque Domini
1696 Came as well the Said Henry Jowles by Joshua Cecell his attorney as the
Said Jacob Bourneveetch in his proper person in Costody of the Sheriffe etc. And
the Sheriffe now Returneth he hath taken the body of the Said Jacob
Bournevetch and the Same hath ready here in Court is Comitted to the Custody
of the Said Sheriffe for default of Manucaptors there to Remaine untill etc.

[68] Lord Baltemore plantiffe: Benjamin Evans Defendant: Debt 2400 lbs.

And now att this day (to witt) the 24th day of November Annoque Domini
1696. Came as well the Said Lord Baltemore by Joshua Cecell his Attorney as
the Said Benjamin Evans in his proper person in Custody of the Sheriffe etc. and
the Sheriffe now Returneth he hath taken the body of the Said Benjamin Evans
and the Same hath ready here in Court is Comitted to the Custody of the Said
Sheriffe for default of Manucaptors there to Remaine untill etc.

Then did the Court Adjourne untill to morrow morning 8 a Clock and then
Satt (Viz.)

Present. Mr. Thomas Hollyday, Mr. William Hutchinson, Mr. William Bar-
ton, Mr. John Wighte, Mr. Robert Bradley, Mr. David Small, Mr. William
Tanyhill, Mr. Robert Tylor, Comisoners.

And hereupon Came into Court Ignatias Creycroft in his proper person and
