NOVEMBER, 1696 COURT 61

Afflicted with an ulcerated Legg for these many years for which I cann gett no
Cure haveing from time to time used all meanes imaginable being thus I am
disenabled from getting my Livelyhood by any hard Labour I gett a poore
maintenance in teaching of Childred to reade but being growne in years and my
Ability or Capasity being but Small I only gett my Accomedations and a few old
Cloaths to Cover my nakedness by that Employ your poore petitioner therefore
humbly prays that he may be Excused only from paying his Leavye and your
poore petitioner as in Duty bound Shall for ever pray.

The above petion is granted And it is ordered by the Court here that the Said
George Hutcheson bee Leavy Free this yeare and for the future.

To the Worshipfull the Justices of Prince Georges County the humble petti-
tion of Ann Fowler humbly Sheweth.

That your poor petitioner being hired unto Edward Ball Late of this County
to Serve him for two years for which Servis the Said Edward Ball was to find
your petitioner in Cloes dureing the time and at the end and Expiration thereof
to find and Allow to your petitioner one Serge or Stuff Suite of Apparell which
the Said Edward Ball hath in no wise Complyed with your poor petitioner there-
fore humbly Requests Justice of this worthy bench against the Said Ball and
your petitioner as in duty bound Shall Ever pray.

The above Said Petition by the Court here is Rejected.

[59] Gentlemen: Prince Georges County Ss.

Pursuant to the Act for preservation of Orphans Estates I find persons in the
Inclosed List are Administrators of persons deceased in your County and which
have Accompted in my office therefore According to the Said Act doe transmitt
the Same to you to Summons the Said persons to give in Securyty for Such part
as belongs to the Orphans the Law Sayes that after Debts and Funerall Ex-
pences payed, the one third Shall be Allowed to the Widdow of the Intestate if
any Such bee. the other two thirds Shall be equally Divided betweene the
Children of the Deceased if any Such be and if noe Such be. then betweene the
Next of blood of the Intestate as per: perusall of the Said Act you will find
more fully Appeares I am your Servant:

Christopher Thompson and Grace his wife: Executor of Lawrence Rowland
Accounted and Remanie Due to the Orpants £25 Sterling: the abovesaid Letter
being Read the Court here demanded of the Said Christopher Thompson
Securyty for the Said Orphans par[t] as is above Required Whereupon Came
here into Court the Said Christopher Thompson together with Mr. Thomas
Hollyday his Security and Acknowledged themselves Indebted unto the Said
Orphans in the Sume of Fifty pounds Sterling apiece to be Leavied upon their
goods and Chatties Lands and tenements respectivly for the use of the Said
Orphant or Orphans if Soe be the Said Christopher Thompson doe not Sattisfie
unto the Said Orphant or Orphants the Just Sume of money that Shall be
Lawfully due to him her or them when Lawfully Required.

This following Declaration was transmitted from Calvert County Records.

Calvert County Ss.

John Gardiner Late of Calvert County Cooper was Atteched to Answer unto
Abraham Feilds of a plea that he render unto him the Sume of four hundred
