SEPTEMBER, 1699 COURT 547

Mr. William Hutchison and Mr. William Taneyhill haveing taken the Oaths
of a Justice of the Peace for Prince Georges County as allso the Oaths appoynted
by act of Parliament they Subscribeing Likewise to the Test tooke their Places by
vertue of the Late Commission from his Excellency the Governour of this Prov-
ince.

Mr. William Hutchison tooke the Oath of a Coroner etc.

Ann Webster aged nine years old att Christmass next was bound to George
Miller till She arrive to the age of 16 years or the Day of Marriage.

Hannah Thickpenny aged 2 years old was bound to Thomas Johnson till She
arrive to the age of Sixteen years of age or the Day of Marriage and in Considera-
tion of her being Soe young the County is to allow the Said Thomas Johnson one
thousand pounds of Tobacco out of the County Leavy.

Josias Towgood haveing taken the Oath of an attorney as allso the Other Oaths
appoynted by act of Parliament and allso Subscribed was admitted an attorney
of this Court.

Mr. William Bleyden haveing sent the new Laws Directed to the Worshippfull
Justices of this Court upon which it was ordered that they be read in open Court
which was accordingly done.

John Murr Servant to Thomas Prather compleined that he was much abused
by his Said Master whereupon it war Ordered that the Said Prather appear to
morrow morneing to answer the Said Compleint allso Benjamin and Elizabeth
Fellow Servans to the Said Murr appear to testifie what they know in that matter
and that the Said Marr Carry a Coppy of this Order.

The Court adjourned till to morrow Morneing Eight of the Clocke and then
mett and Satt as (Viz.)

Present. Mr. Thomas Hollyday, Mr. William Hutchison, Mr. Robert Bradley,
Mr. Robert Tyler, Mr. William Taneyhill, Mr. John Hawkins, Mr. Robert
Wade, Mr. Samuell Magruder, Mr. Thomas Sprigg, Mr. James Stoddert.

Ordered that James Watts and Nicholas Davis be overseers of Mattapany
Hundred.

Ordered that Christopher Thompson and William Prather be overseers of Col-
lington Hundred and that the Overseers of Mount Callvert Hundred meet at the
westerne Branch bridge Sometime before the tenth day of October next and that
they repaire the Said Bridge passable for Horse and man and what Ever
ordinary Charge they are att to be allowed from the County.
[465] Ordered that John Summars and John Henry be overseers of Mount
Callvert Hundred.

Ordered that Thomas Wells and Thomas Pindle be overseers of Patuxant
Hundred.

Ordered that Wallter Evans and William Smith be overseers of Newscottland
Hundred.

Ordered that Timothy Mahony and William Smith be Overseers of Piscattaway
hundred.
