Thomas Taney Executor of Michael Taney plantiffe: Christopher Ellis De-
fendant.
And the Said Thomas Taney Executor aforesaid by Joshua Cecell his attorney
Came here into Court and Leavied his plaint against Christopher Ellis late of
this County planter of a plea that he Render unto him the Sume of four
hundred Eighty three pounds of tobaccoe and Caske which from him he unjustly
Deteyneth etc.
And whereupon Came into Court here Thomas Bridges and did Acknowledge
himselfe bound unto the Said Thomas Taney Executor aforesaid that if the
Said plantiffe would Cause the Said Action aforesaid to be Entred Agred that
then the Said Thomas Bridges would pay unto the Said plantiffe all that part
of the Debt aforesaid that now is Remaining due together with all Costs and
Damages of the Said plantiffes that he hath Laid out and Expended in the
procecuteing the [Action] the Same to be Leavied on his goods and Chatties
Lands and tenements to and for the use of the Said plantiffe etc.

Att Prince Georges County Court held at Charles Towne the twentith day of
October in the Eight yeare of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord William the
third by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King De-
fender of the Faith etc. Annoque Domini 1696 By his Majestys Justices there-
unto Appointed Appointed and Authorized (viz.)
Present. Mr. Thomas Hollyday, Mr. William Hutchinson, Mr. John Wighte,
Mr. Robert Bradley, Mr. David Small, Mr. Robert Tylor, Comisoners.
To the Worshipfull the Comisoners of Prince Georges County Court.
These are Humbly to petition your Worshipps that I your Humble Petitioner
James Bray of the County abovesaid being a poore Lame man and not Able to
worke and hath a wife and Severall Chilldren and not Able to maintaine them
your petitioner doth humbly begg that this Worshipfull Court would please to
Allow Something towards the maintenance of your Humble Petitioner etc. Upon
the above petition it is ordered by the Court here that the Said James Bray
Shall have four hundred pounds of tobaccoe Allowed in the Leavie this year.
To the Worshipfull Bench of Justices of Prince Georges County.
The Petition of David Davis Cometh Greeting.
That Whereas the Said David Davis your humble Petitioner is verry old and
decreped and past his Labour and allmost blind doth desier that your worshipps
would be pleased to take off his Leavie and to Free him from taxis and Country
Dutyes as to his owne pertickeler part being not able to help himself hopeing
that when your Worships have taken it into Consideration will Charritably
grant this my Request and your Petitioner Shall Ever pray etc.
Upon the above Petition it is ordered by the Court here that the Said David
Davis pay his Leavie this year it being Already tooke by the Constable but for
the years hereafter t[o] be Leavie Free etc.
