onely be put into the Stockes for three howers And the Said Henry Buttler this
28th day of March Annoque Domini 1699 in Custody of the Shreeff was put into
the Stocks dureing the time of the Formar Ordar, and Further it is ordered by
the Court here that the Sheriff take the Said Henry Buttler into his Custody and
him Safe Keep untill he Shall finde good Security for his good behavious and for
his appearance the next Court to be held here in June next to answer unto Such
things and mattars as Shall be on his Majestyes behalfe then and there objected
against him etc.
And now here at this day (to witt) the 28th day of March 1699 came the Said
Henry Buttler and acknowledged himselfe to be Indebted to our Sovereigne Lord
the King in the Just Sume of five pounds Sterling money of England togather
with William Prather his Security and the Said William Prather did acknow-
ledge himselfe to be indebted to our Sovereigne Lord the King in the Sume of five
pounds of Like Money to be Leavid on their Goods and Chatties Lands and
Tenements respectively to our Sovereigne Lord the Kings use if the Said Henry
Buttler Shall not appear att the next County Court to be held att Charles Towne
the 4th Tuesday of June next and in the meantime to bee of good beheaviour as
well towards our Sovereigne Lord the King as all the good People of this Province
and Especially the Justices and officers of this Court.
His Majesty v. Charles Wallker
Bee it remembred that the Jurors of our Sovereigne Lord the King that now is
for the body of Prince Georges County for his Said Majesty upon their Oathes
did present Charles Wallker of the County aforesaid Planter for that hee the Said
Charles Wallker the 28th day of March 1699 att Charles Towne in the Said
County did in the Contempt of the good Laws of this Province and allso of the
Kingdome of England by force of armes hinder and Beat and Strik James Moor
Constable of Mount Callvert Hundred when hee was in the administration of his
office in Commanding the Peace in a Riott then and there made against the
tennor and provision of the Good Laws of God and this Province.

And now here att this day (to witt) the 28th day of March this same Court
before the Justices of our Sovereigne Lord the King att Charles Towne aforesaid
came the Said Charles Wallker in Custody of the Shreeffe of Prince Georges
County and being brought to Barr in his propper person it is demanded of the
Said Charles Wallker how hee would acquitt himselfe of the premises imposed
upon him And the Said Charles Wallker cometh and defendeth the Force and
Injury when etc. and Saith for plea that he did not know that the Said James
Moor was a Constable and Furthermore added that hee was Sorry for his offence
committed, whereupon all and Singular the premisses by the Court here being
seen and understood itt is Considered that the Said Charles Wallker pay unto our
Sovereigne Lord the King his heires and Successors the Sume of one hundred
pounds of Tobacco as a Fine by the Court adjudged, [fine] and further it is
Ordered by the Court here that the Sheriff take the Said Charles Wallker into his
Custody and him Safe keep untill hee Shall finde Sufficient Security for his good
beheaviour and for his appearance the next Court to be held here in June next to
answer unto Such things and mattars as Shall be then and there objected against
him.
