458 PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY

Robert Briss Servant to William Herbert adjudged to be Sixteen years of age
and to Serve according to Law.

Robert Moehoe Servant to Capt. John Baine adjudged to be Sixteen years of
age and to Serve according to Law.

Command was given to the Sheriffe that he cause to come here the Grand
Inquest by him Summoned which Said grand inquest being by their names called
came (to witt)

Forman Alexander Beall, John Cousens, John Browne, Jonathan Simmons,

John Ramsey, William Prather, Christopher Thompson, Mareen Devall, James

Beall, Joshua Hall, William Conley, John Lenam, Nathaniell Wickham, John

Rigdon, John Deakins.

Which Said Inquest haveing all of them taken the Oath of Grand Jurymen was
Sent out from the barr to Consider of what Should be brought before them and
after Some Small time returned with these Presentments Following (Viz.)

Wee present Paul Busey, Matthew Mackeboy, John Rooke, William Gaskin,
John Mortemore and Henry Buttler for Fighting and being drunk, breaking of
his Majestyes peace etc. By the information of Mr. Robert Bradley and Edward
Willett, allso by the information of Andrew Hambleton Constable of New Scott-
land Hundred we present John Thickpenny for not Clearing the high wayes also
the Said Thickpenny for Stealing of hoggs—and allso in the Said Bill by the in-
formation of Mareen Devall and John Yates Wee present John Chapman for
Carrying a hogg out of the woods with out Ears.

Wee present Benjamin Stephens, Sollomon Stimpson, Peter Scamper, Thomas
Wells and John Robeson For Fighting Breaking of his Majestyes peace etc.

By the information of James Moore Wee present John Rooke and Laurance
Russell for Fighting allso wee present Charles Walker for Strikeing James Moor
Constable.

Wee present Matthew Mackeboy for biteing John Harysons Ear.

Wee present John Rooke for begetting Jonathan Simons Servant woman with
Child.

Wee present Thomas Thickpenny for presenting and fireing of a Gun att
William Sewell.

Wee present Ruth Hutcheson for haveing a Bastard Child, By James Cogwell
Constable of Piscattaway Hundred.

Wee present Elinor Browne for takeing money out of John Mortemores
Pockett.

Wee present Mr. David Small for Taxing Mr. Bradley with Injustice.

Wee present Elizabeth Plummer wife of Thomas Plummer for sending Jona-
tham Byan and Martha Cooper to The Plantation of Thomas Wells to Steall
Onians and Cabidge and Bacon from him the Said Wells by the information of
Abraham Clarke Constable of Patuxant Hundred.

Wee present John Chapman for For reideing Mr. Bradleyes Horse Contray to
his Knowledge by the Information of John Browne.

[402] Wee Present Richard Groome Servant to Mrs. Mary Sellby for Spreading
abroad in this Province falce and Evill repoarts (To witt) that is to Say that there
is Severall warrs Broake out in the Kingdome of England and that Some Declares
for one King and Some for an other etc.

Wee Present Matthew Mackeboy for biteing a peice of Thomas Orsons Ear
off all which aforesaid presentments was Endorsed on the Said Bills Billa vera.
