Proovd in open Court.

And the Said John Mills by William Stone his Attorney cometh and Defendeth
the Force and Injury when etc. and Prayeth Lycence thereof to imparle here
untill the next Court and it is Granted unto him the Same Day is given to the
Plantiffe and Likewise etc. [366] And now here att this Day (to Witt) the
22d day of November Annoque Domini 1698 came as well the Said Edward
and Dudley Carleton as the Said John Mills by their Attorneyes afforesaid and
the Said Joshua Cecell Prayeth that the Said John Mills to his Declaration afore-
said May answer.

Whereupon the Said John Mills by William Stone his attorney cometh and
Defendeth the Force and Injury when etc. and Saith that he is not informed by
the Said John Mills his Client for the Said John Mills in the plea afforesaid to
be given and nothing more thereof Saith by which the Said Edward and Dudley
Carleton remaineth against the Said John Mills undefended.

Therefore tis Considered that the Said Edward and Dudley Carleton recover
against the Said John Mills as well the Sume of twelve hundred thirty Seven
pounds of Tobacco his Debt aforesaid as allso the Sume of two hundred Sixty
Eight pounds of Tobacco to the Said Edward and Dudley Carleton of their
asscent by the Court here adjudged and the Said John Mills in Mercy.

Hide and Company Plantiffs: Thomas Vaughun Deffendant

The Plantiffs by James Cranford their Attorney brought his Majestyes writt
against the Deffendant in a Plea of Tresspass upon the Case it being for five
Hundred thirty one Pownds of Tobacco due upon account as by Declaration
Filed and account here Entred may appear etc.
