NOVEMBER, 1698 COURT 393

Matthew Mackeboy demands a Subpoena for Edward Brock to testifie inter
him and Ninian Beall trespass on the Case: warrant to Subpoena and returne ut
Supra.

The above written Docquett of writts and Subpoenas was returned by Thomas
Greenfeild Sheriffe.

Att Prince Georges County Court held att Charles Towne the 22 day of
November in the tenth year of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord William the
third by the Grace of God of England Scottland France and Ireland Deffender of
the Faith etc. Annoque Domini 1698 By his Majesties Justices thereunto ap-
poynted and authorized (Viz.)

Present: Mr. Thomas Hollyday, Mr. John Wight, Mr. Robert Bradley, Mr.

Robert Tyler, Mr. John Smith, Mr. John Hawkins, Mr. Robert Weid, Mr.

Samuell Magruder, Commissioners.

Complaint being Made by the Sheriff that Joseph Greer absented himselfe
from Serveing as a Grand Jury man, by order of Court was fined two Hundred
pounds of Tobaco unless [he] Shew Cause, [find]

William Mackeboy Servant to Mr. John Smith adjudged to be 14 years old and
David Blandigan Servant to Ditto adjudged to be 13 years old both to Serve
according to act of assembly.

John Dholohundee Servant to Murphey Ward adjudged to be Eighten years
old and to Serve according to act of assembly.

Command was given to the Shreiff that he cause the Grand Jury by him
Sumoned to come into Court and the Pannell thereof being returned by the
Sherif and the Jurors therein being impannelled being Called Likewise came (to
wit)

John Chittam, foreman, Robert Clarke, William Clackson, John Middleton,
Christopher Thompson, John Browne, John Ramsey, John Turner, John
Chapman, Joseph Harison, John Wattkins, James Watts, Thomas Swaringam,
Thomas Wells, Benjamin Brasheers, Nathaniell Wickham. Sumoned per
Thomas Greenfeild, Sheriffe.

Who haveing taken the oath of Grand Jurymen went out to Consider of what
presentments Should Come before them and after Some Small time returned with
these Presentments Following (Viz.)

[356] I John Rigdon Constable of Mount Callvert Hundred doe Present Peter
Hay for carrying a Gun upon the Sabbath day with a pretence to Kill Turkeys
as being Informed by Edward Dauson.

On the back of the Said bill was Endorsed Billa Vera.

I doe present Deborah Woodfeild for Basterdiseing.

Wittness my Hand Jonathan Simmons Constable of Mattapony Hundred.

On the back of the Said bill was Endorsed Billa vera.

I John Rigdon Constable of Mount Callvert Hundred doe present William
Scott for Strikeing me the Said John Rigdon.

On the back of the Said bill was Endorsed Billa Vera.
