NOVEMBER, 1698 COURT 389

Prince Georges County Oct. the 10th 1698.

May it Please your Excelency

Whereas by your Excelencys Command we have Received a Letter Signifieing
a remonstrance has been made to your Exelency by the Honorable the Justices of
the Provintiall Court for the Disbanding the Reingers on the head of Patomick
River.

Your Excelency is likewise pleased to require the Sentements of the Inhabitants
of this County here in In obedience therefore to your Exelencys Comands wee the
Subscribers have with Submission to your Exelencys Judgement given our
oppinion as Followeth (Viz.)

That the Continuance of them hath been a Great Charge to the Province and
little or noe Benifitt or Security has acrued thereby but is has in our oppinion
rather Provoked the Indians to doe Mischeife and that even allmost within their
Garison by which it appears they have not any awe on the Indians, Neither has
the Garrison been soe watchfull and dilligent as their Poast required therefore
wee think the Continuance of them not Nessessary. This is what offars from your
Exelencys Humble Servants.

Hyatt, the mark A of Alexander Magruder, Thomas Davis, Laurance Russell,
the Mark II of Robert Harrison, the mark W of William Prichett, the marke TK
of Thomas Keneston.

Then did the Court adjourne till the fourth Tuesday in November Next.

A Docquett of writts returnable to the 4th Tuesday in November Annoque
Domini 1698.

John Cobb demands an atteachment against the Esteat of Croteney Crotoffe for
1115 lbs of tobacco Debt and 4211 of tobacco cost: warrant to the Sheriff to
returne to the 4th Tuesday in November 1698. [Atteached etc.]

William Bayley demands a Capias against George Jackson trespass on the Case:
warrant to arrest and returne ut Supra. [Countermanded]

The Carleton Merchants demand a Capias against John Snugg trespass on the
Case: warrant to arrest and returne ut Supra. [Cepi.]

The King demands a Capias against James Jewres Debt 10 pound: warrant to
arrest and returne ut Supra, [non Est]

Tasker and Company demands a Capias against Treacys Administrator debt
2340: warrant to arrest and returne ut Supra. [Cepi.]

Thomas Keneston demands a Capias against William Groome trespass on the
Case: warrant to arrest and returne ut Supra. [Non Est]

Woottons administrator demands a Capias against John Wight and uxor tres-
pass on the Case: warrant to arrest and returne ut Supra. [Cepi]

James Brooke demands a Capias against William Groome Debt 998: warrant
to arrest and returne ut Supra. [Non Est]
