362 PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY

Henry Howes Servant to Nathan Veitch adjudged Sixteen years ordered to
Serve according to act of Assembly etc.

John Kelly Servant to John Barrett adjudged fowrteen years ordered to Serve
according to act of Assembly etc.

James Maroney Servant to John Barrott adjudged Seventeen years ordered
to Serve according to act of assembly etc.

William Carroll Servant to John Barrott adjudged Eighteen years ordered to
Serve according to act of Assembly etc.

James Key Servant to Matthew Mackeboy adjudged Sixteen years ordered to
Serve according to act of Assembly etc.

Morgan Collings Servant to Matthew Mackeboy adjudged Nineteen years
ordered to Serve according to act of Assembly etc.

Bryan Kelly Servant to John Prather adjudged Fowrteen years ordered to
Serve according to act of Assembly etc.

Henry Mace Servant to Captaine Edward Brocke adjudged twenty years or-
dered to Serve according to act of Assembly etc.

The Court adjourned till to morrow morneing Six a Clocke.

Present. Mr. Thomas Hollyday, Mr. John Weight, Mr. Robert Tylor, Mr. John

Hawkins, Mr. Samuell Magruder, Commisoners.

Command was Given to the Sheriffe of Prince Georges County that he forth-
with returne the Pannell of the Grand Inquest by him made which pannell
being returned and the Jurors thereon Impannelld being Called came (viz.)

Hugh Reyley, foreman, Thomas Vaughun, William Ray, Charles Walker,

Joshua Hall, John Davis, Nathan Veitch, Mareen Devall, Paul Bewsey, John

Browne, John Prather, Michael Ashforth, John Barrett, James Moore, John

Deakins. Summoned by Thomas Greenfeild, Sheriffe.

Who haveing all of them tooke the oath of Grand Jury men went up to
Consider of this Following Indightment.

Our Sovereigne Lord the King against Matthew Mackeboy

The Defendant by Mr. William Stone Espeacially appoynted Clarke of Indite-
ments was presented unto the above Grand Jury in these words (Viz.) The
Jurors of our Sovereigne Lord the King for the body of Prince Georges County
upon their Oaths doe present Matthew Mackeboy Late of Prince Georges County
Planter for that he the Said Matthew Mackeboy the 22d Day of July in the year
of our Lord 1698 Att Collington hundred within the Jurisdiction of this Court
with force and armes etc. Severall goods and money Sterling that is to Say one
Calliminco Vest one white Shirt one pair of White Drawers one pair of flowerd
Dimety Breeches [334]1 one Silk Handcercheift one white ditto and Six pence
Sterling of the Value of 400 pounds of Tobacco being the proper goods and
money of one John Wells then and there being did feloniously pillpher theive
Steale take and Carry away Contrary to his Majesties Peace his rule and Dignity
etc. The aforesaid Grand Jury after some Small Debate brought downe the Bill
against Matthew Mackeboy Indorsed Ignoramus and did refuse to goe out to
bring in a billa vera and the Court being of the oppinion that the bill ought to
be found billa vera Whereupon the Court orders that the Said Mackeboy find
Security to answer to the Said Bill at the next Provinciall Court in the mean
time to be in Custody of the Shreeffe And now hear att this day (to witt) the
