Ordered that these Following papers Be Read and Recorded (Viz.)

Gentlemen

I have herewith Sent you a Commission for Mr. Willett to be Clark of your
County whome after Securyty given and the Oaths taken According to the
Usuall manner you Are to Admitt (hee hath brought the bond with him which
wen finised you are to Send up to the Secretaries office with Convenient Speed)
See that all Records and other matters to your Court belonging be delivered to
him Soe I Remaine your Loving Freind.

Sir Thomas Laurence Barronet his Majesties principall Secretary of the
province of Maryland To Edward Willet of Prince Georges County gentleman
Greeting Know yee that for the Spetiall trust and Confidence that I have and
doe Repose to your knowledge Care and Circumspection I have Ordained Con-
stituted and Appointed and doe by these presents Ordaine Constitute and Ap-
point you the Said Edward Willett to be Clerke and Keeper of the Records of
Prince Georges County aforesaid Willing and Requiring you to Aske Demand
and Receive and take into your Custody all Records transcripts Precepts Papers
and Enrolemts whatsoever unto the Said County Court belonging or in any
wise Appertaining and to Act doe and performe in the aforesaid office of Clerk
of the Said County as fully and Amply as any Clerk of a County Court in this
Province may or ought of Right to doe haveing and takeing to your owne
proper use and behoofe all and Singular the perquisites and proffitts of Right
to the Said Office belonging Rendring therefore a full Account of the proffitts
of your Said Office when Demanded and paying unto me the Said Sir Thomas
Laurence one tenth part of the full proffitts thereof per Annum Soe Long as you
Shall Continue in the Said Office to have hold Exerscise and Injoy the Same
and perquites: thereof as aforesaid Dureing pleasure Given att the Port of
Annapolis under the Scale of my Office the 20th day of July in the tenth yeare
of his Majestyes Reigne etc.

Know all men by these presents that wee Edward Willett, Ninian Beall and
Samuell Magruder Are holden and firmly bound unto his Sacred Majestye King
William the third in the full and Just Sume of one hundred pounds of good and
Lawfull mony of England to be paid unto his Sacred Majestye his heires and
Successors which payment well and truly to be made wee bind our Selves our
heires Executors and Administrators Joyntly and Severally by these presents
Sealed with our Scales and Dated this twenty third day of August in the tenth
yeare of his Majestyes Reigne Annoque Domini one thowsand Six hundred ninty
and Eight.
