Ignatias Creycroft in mercy etc.
Christopher Baynes Executor of Christopher Baynes plantiffe: Ninian Beall
Defendant
The plantiffe by William Stone his Attorney Sues the Defendant in a plea of
Debt for the Sume of Eight hundred ninty five pounds of tobaccoe due by bill
Dated the Seventh day of June 1695 As by Decleration and bill filed Appeareth etc.
And the Said Ninian Beall by John Meriton his Attorney Cometh and Defendeth
the Force and Injury when etc. and prayeth Lycence thereof to Imparle here untill
the next Court and it is granted unto him the Same Day is given to the plantiffe
Likewise. And now here at this day (to witt) the 28th day of June 1698 Came
here as well the Said Christopher Baynes as the Said Ninian Beall by their
Attorneys aforesaid And the Said Christopher prayeth that the Said Ninian
Beall to his Decleration aforesaid may Answer etc. And the Said Ninian Beall
by John Meriton his Attorney Cometh and defendeth the force and Injury when
etc. and Saith that he is not Informed by the Said Ninian Beall his Clyant of any
answer for the Said Ninian Beall in the plea aforesaid to be given and nothing
more thereof Saith by which the Said Christopher Baynes Remaineth against the
Said Ninian Beall thereof without Defence etc. Therefore it is Considered that
the Said Christopher Baynes Recover against the Said Ninian Beall the Sume of;
Eight hundred ninty five lbs. of tobaccoe the Debt Aforesaid and his Damages by
Occation of Deteyning the Said Debt two hundred twenty Eight lbs. of tobaccoe
to the Said Christopher Baynes of his Assent by the Court here Adjudged etc.
And the Said Ninian Beall in mercy etc.
[327] Walter Winter plantiffe: Charles Clarke Defendant
The plantiffe by William Stone his Attorney Sues the Defendant in a plea of
Debt for Sixteen hundred pounds of tobaccoe due by bill dated the Eight day of
February 1696 [1697] as by Decleration filed Appeareth etc.
And the Said Charles Clarke in his proper person Cometh and Defendeth the
force and Injury when etc. and prayeth Lycence thereof to Imparle here untill
the next Court and it is granted unto him the Same Day is given to the plantiffe
Likewise etc.
Att which Said next Court (to witt) the 28th day of June 1698 Came the Said
Walter Winter by his Attorney aforesaid and prayeth that the Said Charles
Clarke to his Decleration aforesaid may Answer etc. But the Said Charles Clarke
Although Solemly Called Came not but made Default etc.
Therefore it is Considered that the Said Walter Winter Recover against the
Said Charles Clarke the Sume of Sixteene hundred pounds of tobaccoe his Debt
aforesaid and his Dammages by Occation of Deteyning the Said Debt to
pounds of tobaccoe to the Said Walter Winter of his Assent by the Court here
Adjudged etc. And the Said Charles Clarke in mercy etc.
Matthew Mockeboy plantiffe: Hugh Jones Defendant
The plantiffe by William Stone his Attorney brought the writt of our Sover-
eigne Lord the King against the Defendant in a plea of trespass upon the Case
etc. And hath not procecuted his Said writt etc. Therefore he and his pledges of
procecuteing be in mercy etc.
Lett the names of the pledges be Sought etc. And the Said Hugh Jones goe
thereof without day etc. It is Likewise Considered that the Said Hugh Jones
