Whereupon the John Meriton in his proper person prayeth an Attachment
against the goods Chatties and Creditts of the Said Richard Edwards as well for
the Sume of nine hundred pounds of tobaccoe his Debt for Damages aforesaid
as alsoe for the Sume of four hundred forty Seaven pounds of tobaccoe his Costs
and Charges in this behalfe Laid out and Expended etc. And by the Court here
it is granted unto him etc.
Henry Hanslop plantiffe: Samuell Harrwood Defendant
The plantiffe by John Meriton his Attorney brought his Majesties writt of
Capias against the Defendant in a plea of trespass upon the Case etc. being for
one pounds Sterling money by the plantiffe Lent to the Defendant as by Declera-
tion filed may more at Large Appeare etc. And the Said Defendant by William
Stone his Attorney Cometh and Defendelh the force and Injury when etc. And
Craveth Licence thereof to Imparle here until the next Court and it is granted
unto him the Same day is given to the plantiffe Likewise.
And now here at this day (to witt) the 25th day of January 1697 [1698] Came
here as well the Said Henry Hanslop as the Said Samuell Harrwood by their
Attorneys aforesaid and the Said Henry prayeth that the Said Samuell to his
Decleration aforesaid may Answer etc. And the Said Samuell by his Attorney
aforesaid Cometh and Defendeth the force and Injury when etc. And Saith that
he Cannot gainsay the Action of the Said Henry Hanslop nor but that he oweth
the Said one pound Sterling money of England in manner and forme as the
plantiff against him hath Declared as aforesaid etc.
Therefore it is Considered that the Said Henry Hanslop Recover against the
Said Samuell Harrwood as well the Sume of one pounds Sterling money of
England his Damages in the premises as alsoe the Sume of two hundred and
Sixty pounds of tobaccoe to the Said Henry Hanslop at his Request for his Costs
and Charges in this behalfe Laid out and Expended etc. and by the Court here
Adjudged etc. And the Said Samuell Harrwood in mercy etc.
Joseph Hanslop plantiffe: Samuell Harrwood Defendant
The plantiffe by John Meriton his Attorney Sued the Defendant in a plea of
trespass upon the Case etc. for three hundred and three pounds of tobaccoe upon
the ballance of Account as by Decleration filed and Account here Sett downe

And the Said Samuell Harrwood by William Stone his Attorney Cometh and
Defendeth the force and Injury when etc. and prayeth Lycence hereof to Imparle
here untill the next Court and it is granted unto him the Same day is given to the
plantiffe Likewise.
And now here at this day (to witt) the 25th day of January 1697 [1698]
Came the aforesaid parties by there Attorneys aforesaid and the Said Joseph
Hanslop prayeth that the Said Samuell Harrwood to his Decleration aforesaid
may Answer etc. And the Said Samuell Harrwood by his Attorney aforesaid
