Att Prince Georges County Court held at Charles Towne the 25th day of
January in the ninth yeare of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord William the
third by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King De-
fender of the Faith etc. Annoque Domini 1697: [1698] By his Majesties Justices
thereunto Appointed and Authorized. (Viz.)
Present. Mr. Thomas Hollyday, Mr. William Barton, Mr. John Wightt, Mr.
John Smith, Mr. John Hawkins, Commisoners.
Then was Mr. William Hutchinson, Major Ninian Beall, Mr. William Barton
and Mr. John Wightt Chozen Delegates to Serve in the Assembly for this County.
Then did the Court Adjourne untill to morrow morning Eight a Clock.
Present. Mr. Thomas Hollyday, Mr. William Barton, Mr. John Wightt, Mr.
John Smith, Mr. John Hawkins, Commisoners.
Upon a Complaint made by Thomas Lamar that John Gardiner had much
Abused him itt: is ordered by the Court here that the Said John Gardiner be
bound in Recognizance to Appeare here the next Court to answer the aforesaid
Complaint etc. Whereupon Came the Said John Gardiner into open Court and
Acknowledged himselfe Indebted unto our Sovereigne Lord the King in the
Sume of tenn pounds Sterling to be Leavied on his goods and Chatties Lands
and tenements to the use of his Majestic if Soe bee the Said John Gardiner doe
not Appeare here the fourth Tuesday in March next and in the meane time to
bee of good behavor as well towards all his Majesties Subjects as Espetially
towards Thomas Lamar.
Mr. William Barton Servant woman Appeared here to Answer about haveing
of Mallatta basterd Child was Ordered to Appeare here the next Court that the
Records of Calvert County Court about her in the meane time might be gott
Ready to be produced.
