The before written Letter of Attorney att the Request of John Bird was Entred
in the Records of Prince Georges County Court the 23d day of November 1697.

[268] Know all men by these presents that I John Lecount of London in
Middlesex Marriner have made Ordained Constituted and Appointed my truly
freind Mr. John Burd of Maryland in Charles County Gentleman to be my
true and Lawfull Attorney to Aske demand Recover and Receive all Such
Debts and Debts of goods Merchandizes or any other as Shall Appeare belonging
to me or my Imployers and in my place and Stead to Sue for and Levy all
Such premises as aforesaid and after the Receipt to Discharge Release and give
Acquittance giving and granting unto my Said Attorney for the use of my
Imployers my full power and Authority to Act and doe in the aforesaid premises
as if I my Selfe were personally present In Wittness hereof I have hereunto Sett
my hand and Scale this twenty first day of Aprill 1697.

Att a Spetiall Court Called and held att the house of Mr. Jonathan Willsons
in Charles Towne the Seaventeen day of January in the ninth yeare of the
Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord William the third by the grace of God of
England Scotland France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc. Annoque
Domini 1697 [1698] by his Majesties Justices thereunto Appointed and Author-
ized (Viz.)
Present. Mr. William Barton, Mr. Robert Tylor, Mr. John Smith, Mr. Samuell
Magruder, Commissoners.
Then was the Writt for the Election of Burgises and Delegates for Prince
Georges County Read. And the Court here are of the Opinion that the twenty
Fith day of January Instant being the next Court day to be held for this County
is the most Convenient time for the Electing of Delegates to Serve in the house
of Assembly for this County Uppon which it is ordered by the Court here that
the Sheriffe give notice to the Inhabitants of this County to meet at this towne
the Said 25th day Instant in order for the Electing the Same etc.

Thomas Taney Demands Capias against James Moore in a plea of trespass
