22 PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY

Venire for Ellinor Servant woman to Walter Evans to Answer Ditto on the
behalfe of Ditto: warrant etc. to Cause and returne ut Supra. [Summoned]

Venire for Thomas Wells to Answer Ditto on the behalfe of Ditto: warrant
etc. to Cause and returne ut Supra. [Summoned]

[24] August Court 1696.

Att a Prince Georges County Court held att Charles Towne the twenty E[ighth
day of August] in the Eight yeare of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord William
the third [by the] grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King
Defender of the faith [etc.] Annoque Domini 1696 By his Majestyes Justices
thereunto appointed and Authorized. (Viz.)

Present: Mr. Thomas Hollyday, Mr. William Hutchinson, Mr. William Bar-
ton, Mr. John Wighte, Mr. Robert Bradley, Mr. David Small, Mr. Robert
Tylor, Comisoners.

Ordered by the Court that Mr. William Cooper the present Clarke of this
Court doe provide himself with a Debuty to Assist him against tomorrow morn-
ing by Reason of the said Coopers Sickness not being Able to performe the Said
Office.

The order of Councill Conserning the Constables of this County takeing of a
new List of taxables being Read. Itt is the Oppinion of the Court thereupon
that the Constables of this County have allready made a Sufficient Returne of
the List of taxables of this County According to Law.

Ordered by the Court upon a Complaint made by Thomas Pingle that Mr.
Bladen had taken his horse and Ridd him up to Annoppolis without his Leave
that the Said William Bladen pay unto him the said Thomas Pingle two hundred
pounds of tobaccoe for the Rideing and use of his horse aforesaid.

To the Worshippfull his Majestys Justices of Prince Georges County.

Thomas Hyde humbly Sheweth.

That your Petitioner by Reason of Age and Sickness is uncapable of Working
and make[ing] Cropps as also his wife is antient and your pettitioner hath noe
servant worke for [him] which Incappassitys him to pay the publick and County
Leavies. Your petitioner [therefore humbly prays that he may be by order of
Court Discharged from paying his Leavyes and as in duty bound Shall Ever
pray. etc.

The above petition by the Court here is Rejected.

The Right Worshipfull Commisoners of Prince Georges County Court now
Sitting.

The humble petition of Nicholas Baker Sheweth.

That your petitioner being of a Long time griveiously troubled with an old
ulcer [and] Leprocie in boath his Leggs which Renders him uncapable of all
Imployments whereby [to get] his Maintenance but your worships petitioner
hath for these five years and upw[ards] been Oblidged to John Browne and he
hath bin Soe Kind not only for a Maintenance but als[oe] hath bin Soe kind in
hopes of Cure to disburst on my behalfe to Doctor Hunt two thowsand lbs. of
