Said John Marsh and Company of their Assent by the Court here Adjudged and
the Said William Barton in mercy etc.
Hugh Ryley made oath to Account against Major Nicholas Sawell. and write-
ing the proofe.
Daniell Daniellson made oath to an Account against Mr. Charletts Estate and
the proofe.
[150] The Grand Jury was Allowed three hundred pounds of tobaccoe att
Charles Tracys and Discharged etc.
The Court Adjourned untill to morrow morning Six a Clock.
Present. Mr. Thomas Hollyday, Mr. John Wighte, Mr. Robert Bradly, Mr.
Robert Tylor, Comisoners.
Whereas Elizabeth Pole did not Appeare being by the Sheriffe Served with a
venire facias to Answer unto what Should be Objected against her on his Ma-
jesties behalfe It is ordered by this Court that the Sheriffe take her into his
Custody and bring her body to the next Prince Georges County Court in June
next.
Susana Grimes Servant woman to Col. Thomas Hollyday Appeared to Answer
unto what Should be Objected against her for bearing of a basterd Child And the
Said Susana Grimes Confessed that She [was] Guilty of the fact Laid to her
Charge. Whereupon it was ordered by the Court here that the Sheriffe take the
Said Susana Grimes to the wipping post and there give her twenty Lashes on her
bare back which was Accordingly Done, but the Allowance for the time She is to
Serve her Said Master for the Disgrace and trouble of his house is Referred untill
the next Court by Reason there is not Justices Enough in towne to hold a Court
without Col. Hollyday.
Uppon a motion made by William Bladen that Jonathan Willson may keep
Ordinary in this towne It is ordered that the Said Jonathan Willson may keepe
Ordinary in the Said towne Called Charles Towne dureing pleasure the Said
Willson Complying with the Act of Assembly Conserning Ordinary keepers and
that he have a Lycence from the Clerke for the Same etc.
Uppon a motion made by William Bladen for Hester Ball against Edward Ball
It is the opinion of the Court that the former order made by this Court is and
Remains good Notwithstanding the Misprision of the Clerke.
Mr. Stone moved for an Appeale on the behalf e of Edward Ball on the petition
and former order of Hester Balls but it is the opinion of the Court that no
Appeale Should be granted him.
Mr. John Wighte tooke the oath of Corroner for this County.
