JUNE, 1696 COURT 15

maine branch and from thence Running with a Line of Double Markt trees
South fifty nine Degrees Easterly to three bounded white Oakes Each markt
with thirty two Notches and Standing att the head of the Norther most mayne
Branch of Swanstons Creeke Being neere the Coach Roade which wee doe
Esteeme and declare to bee the Devissionall Lyne of the Said Couniy In testi-
nioney whereof wee have hereunto Subscribed our names the 14th day of
Aprill 1696.

John Bayne, William Hutchinson, Thomas Greenfeild.

[19] To the Justices of the County of Prince Georges County the humble
petition of William [Groome] of this County. Humbly Sheweth.

That whereas your petitioner is Convenient to keepe an Ordinary Convenient
for [those] that doth Resort to this towne etc.

Wherefore your humble petitioner doth humbly pray that he may have a
Lyce[nce from] this worshipfull Court that hee may bee Admitted to keepe an
ordinary and youre [said] Petitioner as in Duty bound Shall Ever pray.

The above petition being Read was Granted by the Said Justices.

Wee the Subscribers doe declare that wee doe beleive that there is not any
Trans[ubstanti]ation in the Sacrament of the Lords Supper or in the Ellements
of Bread and Wine att or after the Consecration thereof by any person what-
soever.

Thomas Hollyday, William Hutchinson, William Barton, John Wighte,
Robert Bradley, William Tanyhill; David Small, Robert Tyler; Comisoners.

Command is given to the Sheriffe of Prince Georges County that he Returne

the pannell of his grand Inquest which being Returned and the Jurors thereof

Called by theire names Like[wise] Came (Viz.).

John Smith, foreman, James Moore, John Browne, Nathan Veetch, Charles
Bevin, Stephen Ovebee, William Bayley, Thomas Bridges, Jonathan Simmons,
William Ray, Morreen Dovall, Benjamin Berry, Thomas Lamar, William
Conley, John Forrest, Paul Busey, Phillip Willesey, John Allman, Richard
Chaffey, Thomas Sprigg, Jun, William Selby, Phillip Gittings, Thomas
Prather.
Which Said Inquest haveing all taken the Oath of Grandjurymen was Sent

out from the barr [to] Consider of what Should be brought before them and

after Some Small time Returned these presentments following (Viz.)

Wee doe present Thomas Wells for beateing and abuseing of Thomas

Swareingen aga[inst] his Majestys peace etc.

Wee doe present Abigail Clifford for beareing of a bastard Child.

Whereupon the Court haveing no more presentments to Send to the Said

Inquest did Discharge] the Said Inquest Allowing them two hundred lbs. of

tobacco att Charles Tracys.

[Georg]e Nailer plantiffe: [Hugh] Furguson Defendant: Debt 2800 lbs.
tobacco.

The plantiffe by Joshua Cecell his attorney Sues the Defendant for two
thowsand Eight hundred pounds of tobac[co] as by Decleration and bill filed
Appeareth. etc.
