The Notes and ample Index to this work have been prepared with great care and accuracy. The high estimation in which the Decisions and Opinions of Chancellor Johnson are held by the entire Bar of the State, would at any time be an ample recommendation to this work, but now, that all equity jurisdiction has been transferred to new and perhaps inexperienced tribunals, it is believed that the numerous decisions upon the various points of Chancery Practice and Pleading, contained in these volumes, will render it an invaluable work to every lawyer. The Legislature of Maryland, has manifested its high appreciation of Chancellor Johnson's labors, by subscribing, at its last session, for one hundred and ninety copies of each volume of this work, for the use of the State. JAMES WINGATE, annapolis, July, 1852. |
